Start Smart Learning Centre Services

At Start Smart Learning Centre, we provide a variety of services to meet the needs of our students. Whether it's one-on-one assistance with an Ontario Certified Teacher or drop-in homework help, we are available to work alongside students to reach their academic goals.

We provide a variety of services including:

One-on-One Tutoring

Students are able to work one-on-one with an Ontario Certified Teacher. Whether it is homework help or working on a designed program for the student to develop a specific skill, a one-on-one session is guaranteed to show results in a child's academic performance.

Classroom-Style Learning

This program involves an Ontario Certified Teacher working in a classroom setting with three or more students. This specific approach allows students to meet new people, practice group work and work in a familiar setting. Each classroom-style learning approach is one hour in length and is created based on grade and subject (i.e.: Grade 5 English). Once the educator teaches the lesson, students apply their knowledge in class and practice what is learned at home with assigned homework.

Drop-In Homework Help

This service, specifically geared towards students who have already registered with Start Smart Learning Centre, allows students to seek homework help from our staff on a drop-in basis. Our helpful staff are on-site during the centre's business hours and are more than happy to assist students whenever necessary.

Off-Site Tutoring

This service is primarily geared towards students who live in the Greater Toronto Area. We are able to have our educators meet the student(s) at a local library for a tutoring session, rather than the student coming to Scarborough if it is more convenient.
